Pandavva: Indonesian VTuber Agency with Mahabharata Wayang Concept - Exclusive Interview | Langit Eastern
Pandavva, a new VTuber agency from Indonesia, officially launched at Comifuro 22 on May 16-17, 2026 at ICE BSD, Tangerang. Their booth AA-08/09 attracted long queues of visitors eager to purchase merchandise. In an exclusive interview with KAORI Nusantara, Cella as Business Manager revealed the agency's vision and strategy.
Pandavva's core concept combines Indonesian culture with the VTuber world. Their talents are inspired by the Mahabharata epic, such as Arjuna Arkana. Cella explained that VTubers are seen as a modern version of wayang (traditional shadow puppetry). This vision creates a unique position in Indonesia's VTuber industry, which is still considered niche. The culture-based approach serves as the main differentiator from other VTuber agencies that typically adopt a full Japanese style.
On the business side, Pandavva relies on in-depth market research. Cella, with a background as a marketing strategist, emphasized the importance of market data for long-term planning. This approach produces products and content that match Indonesian audience preferences. The biggest challenge is limited internal resources with only 5 VTubers and 12 staff members, compared to a large fanbase. The solution is their motto "We can do this because we're insane" -- staying adaptive and creative in a dynamic industry.
Pandavva also performed a Virtual Live Show on the second day of Comifuro 22. Preparation involved extensive prayer given the high fan anticipation. Cella hopes the Indonesian VTuber industry continues to grow. She believes the niche status actually provides opportunities to experiment without broad market pressure. She also emphasized the importance of collaboration among all parties to bring Indonesian VTubers to the mainstream level.
